Ethel Youvella was a Hopi-Tewa potter from First Mesa where she created pieces using traditional family techniques.

She was a niece of famous Hopi-Tewa potter Grace Chapella. In the early years she didn’t sign her work. With the added interest of the tourist trade that began in the early years of the 20th century she began to sign. She used various signatures. In addition to her name at various times she signed Polacca, AZ, Hopi First Mesa, and Tewa Village.
