BIOGRAPHY
Taira Wiggins is known for contemporary art pottery influenced by the Arts & Crafts Movement of the early 20th Century. The surface decoration references the California landscape. Wiggins uses the Cuerda Seca technique that involves using thin lines of a non-water-soluble wax based black glaze mixture to separate areas of glaze. This results in images with outlines similar to the black lines in coloring books.
