Brian Van Nostrand is known for wheel-thrown stoneware functional wares including mugs, vases, covered jars and jugs. Van Norstrand sometimes uses clay he digs near his studio. The surface techniques often employ heavy carving and incising. Van Notstrand wood fired most of his work and has built 3 wood kilns.
