BIOGRAPHY

Gary Schlappal is known for stoneware, brightly colored earthenware, and mixed media sculptures and wall pieces. Schlappal’s ceramics have abstract carvings and glaze designs.

After graduating with a BFA in 1972, Schlappal worked in commercial illustrating and advertising before returning to school to pursue a career in ceramics. He is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.
