BIOGRAPHY

Vina Schemer is best known for hand-built, spherical vessels with surfaces finished using transferred photographic images.

Schemer transfers an image to a silk-screen them prints the image onto gum paper. Once a vessel is bisque fired, She applies the gum paper image to the vessel surface and low fires the vessel a second time to transfer the image to the vessel surface. The image is then refined as needed by airbrushing or in-painting and the vessel is fired a third time.

Vina Schemer is co-founder of the Mandarin Art Festival in Northern Florida.
