BIOGRAPHY

Monica Rudquist in known for using porcelain to create both functional objects and wall installations . Her primary tool is the potter's wheel, all pieces begin with thrown components.

All of Rudquist's work preserves the fluid nature of wet clay. She creates pieces that push the clay as far as she can and still have them honor the wheel. In an effort to explore the relationship between functional and non-functional pieces she often cuts and recombines thrown forms.
