Judith Nafziger is known for wheel thrown functional forms made using stoneware, white stoneware and occasionally porcelain. The surfaces are typically finished with a white glaze with copper, cobalt, iron, and chrome decorations. The imagry shows Nafziger's Pennsylvania Dutch background and love of nature.
Nafzinger gathered her ceramic skills in workshops with notable makers including Elmer Taylor, David Leach, Peter Pinnell, M.C. Richards, Victor Babu and Warren MacKenzie.
