BIOGRAPHY

Cecilia Lang is known for high-fired functional stoneware bowls, mugs, and other functional forms. The pieces are asymmetrical, bumpy, and often on unglazed tripod feet. The surfaces are glazed, and some have slip-trailed dots or patterns. Her sculptural work is larger in scale and botany-inspired.

Lang is also inspired by childhood memories of the Black Hills of South Dakota.
