BIOGRAPHY
John Conroy is known for hand-built porcelain animal and figurative sculptural work. Conroy uses unglazed porcelain employing a variety of surface techniques including carving. A line of functional pottery is made under the name and mark Greenlion Pottery.
Conroy first worked as a painter and sculptor for theater companies. In the early 2000’s he learned to wheel-throw at Clayscapes Pottery.
As of April 2018 Conroy's mark is a rampant lion designed in the classical style found on sterling silver and family crests. The secondary mark for Greenlion Pottery is the initials GLP in the shape of a bowl.
