“Mishima, underglaze that’s it!!!”  Claiborne is known for incorporating a Mishima-like technique, an inlay of colored patterns into the surface of thrown decorative functional wares.  Patterns are augmented with brush applied quick strokes and sparsely placed stamped designs. Claiborne incorporates her interest in gardening in delicate flower and stem designs.
