June Vaughn, Bill Vaughn

Biography to Display: 

June Vaughn initially made wheel-thrown functional wares but is best known for decorating pieces thrown by her husband, Bill Vaughn.

Bill joined Vaughn after a brief career in the aerospace industry. They work collaboratively: Bill throws the vessel forms and fires all work.  Vaughn finishes the pieces that are decorated using a variety of glaze techniques. Many of their later pieces, all of which begin with functional forms end of as non-functional conceptual pieces.
