BIOGRAPHY

Richard Aerni  produces a full range of functional stoneware that is ash glazed and single-fired. Occasionally he uses slip trailing. He learned his craft in a group studio in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Typical Marks

"Aerni" inscribed in wet clay in cursive. Often encircled with the "A" in the center of the circle at the base of the piece.

"FA" inscribed in wet clay encircled with date, probably used during the time of collaboration with Michael Frasca at the base of the piece.
