BIOGRAPHY 

Bruce Winn is known for wheel-thrown and altered porcelain functional work. Glazes of a high color key palette are used in repeated geometric or floral motifs.

Winn's pottery and glazing patterns reflect his interest in Japanese, 18^th century French, and 19^th century British pottery traditions. At Boston University, Winn studied with Richard Hirsh and Christopher Gustin and, later at Cranbrook, studies with Graham Marks.

In addition to individual works in clay, in 1997 Winn with his husband, Michael Rosenberry, developed Roseberry-Winn Pottery and Tile, LLC. Rosenberry specialized in glaze chemistry developing a 14 color glaze palette while Winn focused on slip-casting forms and pottery production. The pottery produced, “Textural, low-relief art tiles, tableware, pottery, vases and lamps ...” [1]  Roseberry-Winn Pottery and Tile, LLC’s products features floral and/or geometric motifs in low relief patterns.
