Earlier works include smaller wheel-thrown or hand built stoneware vessels. They focused on developing crystalline glazed work. Marc Hanson, an authority on crystalline glazes was an early influence. Working as a team, Frances created the vessel, while Herman continually developed and altered the crystalline glaze palette.
