Tom Turnbull is known for wheel-thrown porcelain functional pottery and decorative vessel forms. Turnbull often pinches a fingerprint into the surface of the clay in the greenware stage.

This fingerprint acts as the potter’s mark and as a reminder of the hand that made it. Turnbull often uses a brightly colored glaze palette which on occasion features landscape-like brushwork.
