Mike Strumbras is known for wheel-thrown porcelain pottery and vessels high-fired in a soda atmosphere.

Signature forms include ceremonial pieces and functional wares. Surface techniques include low relief curvilinear patterning in the leather-hard stage. Gold luster is applied sparingly to many of his wares followed by a glaze firing in an electric kiln.

Strumbras draws inspiration from 18^th & 19th-century European slip-cast wares.
