Ellen Schön is known for ceramic vessels and sculptures. Her work is fired either in a fireclay  container ( a saggar), or smoke-fired. She uses low-fired clay.

Ellen Schon's most recent work is  fabricated in stoneware or porcelain, reduced or oxidized, using 3D printing methods.
