Harvey Sadow uses the vessel as a canvas and is known for creating thin walled forms with surfaces of rich deep colors created by a combination of firing and after firing surface treatments.

Sadow's pots are thrown on the wheel. He uses multiple firing techniques, including an electric or gas-fired brick kiln.

Sadow often fires his pots multiple times, finishing with a raku firing followed by after-firing treatments. These may include airbrushed coloring and sandblasting.
