Jim Romberg is known for making a full line of functional stoneware, which also included a large selection of raku wall plaques, vases and tea bowls.

Critical writing has been a lifelong interest that in 2010 led him to help organize a Critical Ceramics Symposium in Santa Fe , NM.

Romberg studied with Paul Soldner at Claremont Graduate School.
