 BIOGRAPHY

Caitlyn Marsh is known for high-fire stoneware, wheel-thrown, functional, and, to a lesser degree hand-built and sculptural forms.

To create her unique surfaces, Marsh creates textured mats, and presses these into the wet clay slab. Then after building the piece, she alternates the glaze layer applications with layers of painted-on latex. Finally, all latex layers are peeled off. The firing leaves a textured surface with a glazed pattern which may include unglazed areas.
