BIOGRAPHY

Shaunna Lyons’ forms are created using slabs, wheel-thrown, hand-built, and mold components. Lyons uses a low fire red clay. When the pieces are leather hard, they are glazed with slips, terra sigillata, and fritted stains. She then draws on the pieces using the sgraffito technique allowing the dark color of the clay to create contrast with the lighter colored slips.
