BIOGRAPHY

 Brad Johnson is known for salt fired porcelain and stoneware functional forms using slips, glazes and a heavily salted firing to create desired surface. Carvings is a frequently used decorative technique. The surface of the form is frequently broken up into a grid of rectangles that accentuate the form but can also be viewed as windows panes. Motifs of leaves and tree branches are designed, sometimes contained within the window panes and sometimes across the surface of plates or objects.
