BIOGRAPHY

Claudia Dunaway is known for wheel-thrown functional wares using various clay bodies including stoneware and porcelain. Dunaway uses several surface techniques often layering various colored slips which she then carves through.

Dunaway creates intensely illustrated surfaces with strong line work to illustrate a wide range of subject matter. She also uses silk screened transfers including, at times, drawings done by her husband, John Richards.  All work is fired in a gas reduction kiln.
