BIOGRAPHY
Mary Dashiell makes earthenware sculpture, wheel-thrown ware, and animal whistles characterized by a sense of humor and colorful, detailed decoration. Her whistles include hand built components. Dashiell uses a variety of techniques, including majolica glazes, slip, dotting, and sgraffito, to finish the surfaces of her work.
She began making whistles after a visit to Italy where she worked with potter Mario Scuro.
