BIOGRAPHY
Joseph Bennion is known for wood fired treadle wheel thrown functional stoneware. Surface techniques include alterations in the wet stage, made with Bennion's fingers and simple tools at the end of the throwing process. Bennion often adds salt to the atmosphere of the wood kiln to enhance the glaze effects. Finished wares appear in a variety of earth toned colors.
