BIOGRAPHY

Ingrid Bathe is primarily known for the use of the pinch method of hand building to make functional thin walled porcelain vessels. Impressions of her finger pads form the surface texture. In Bathe’s early work this surface treatment served as her mark. Some of her most common forms include mugs, cups, small bowls and utilitarian table white wares including raised cake stands. Bathe began working almost exclusively in porcelain around 2006.
