BIOGRAPHY

Mary Lou Alberetti is known for ceramic and mixed media sculptural reliefs inspired by both abstract and representational references to architecture and history.

Alberetti says, “I create works in which I hope to distill both the beauty and lessons of antiquity, as I explore how the fragments of a culture embody its aesthetic and philosophical underpinnings.” Her reliefs are often influenced by her many travels to Italy, Spain, France, Turkey and Ireland. She is a Professor Emerita at Southern Connecticut State University.
