BIOGRAPHY

Irwin A. Whitaker is best known for pottery and vessel forms. Surface techniques included incised geometric patterns and basic line work in the leather hard stage. Glazes appear in a variety of earth toned colors, blacks, and whites.

In the 1970's Whitaker traveled extensively to Mexican villages that specialize in pottery. He later co-authored a book on his research.
