BIOGRAPHY

Michael Hieber is known for production pottery. A common form is the jar, surfaced with high fire glazes.

Hieber’s glaze experimentations included bright crystalline glazes, as well as layered glazes which resemble landscapes, as seen in a jar titled Desertscape Lidded Jar, which was featured in a 1980 Ceramics Monthly article.

Hieber was a contributing writer for Ceramics Monthly.
